Inovalon enhances pharmacy efficiency with Oracle Autonomous Database

Inovalon moves its ScriptMed pharmacy SaaS to Oracle Autonomous Database on OCI, improving performance, efficiency, and security.

Moving to Oracle Autonomous Database has been a game-changer for us. With autonomous operations handling patching, tuning, and backups, and elastic pools optimizing compute usage, we reduced manual operations while we scaled to manage hundreds of single tenanted database instances.

Inovalon supports specialty and infusion pharmacies in the US. Its end-to-end pharmacy workflow solution, ScriptMed, is designed to reduce time to fill prescriptions and service costs while improving medication adherence through machine learning. As the company’s customer base grew, managing hundreds of single-tenant databases became a challenge. After moving to Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing, the company eliminated manual operations such as patching, tuning, and backup storage. Oracle Autonomous Database multitenant architecture allowed Inovalon to create and manage hundreds of databases for separate customers and projects more efficiently in a single database system. Features such as elastic pools and auto-scaling helped the company to dynamically scale compute and storage capacity, share data processing resources, and pay for them only as needed. Also, the built-in Oracle Data Guard provided high availability and disaster recovery. OCI GoldenGate, with real-time data integration, plus Aviatrix’s networking solution, delivered a flexible, multicloud environment.
